The COP was held annually from 1979 until 1998. Beginning the COP in 2000, it was held every two years until 2004. As the competition grew, so did its venues. From hotels, the contest moved to venues like the Philippine International Convention Center, World Trade Center and the Clamshell in Intramuros. Today, the Chefs on Parade is known as the longest running culinary competition in the country. The contest pays tribute to the Filipino chef, finding the best in the industry and recognizing their talents and skills as chefs. Its objective is to highlight the creative talents of both students and professionals in the industry. The COP awards became a much-coveted prize among culinary students and professionals. Participating in and winning at the COP gave bragging rights to emerging chefs, schools, restaurants and hotels. It served to benchmark one’s knowledge against industry practitioners.

Now, the COP has nine competitions for students and 15 competitions for professionals. And to this day, the Market Basket competition continues to be at its very center, with the winners receiving the COP’s highest award, the L’Assiette d’Or or Golden Plate Award.

And yes that’s COP. I’ll be one of the assistant on our team which will participate on the table setting category. COP will be held on February 10, 11, and 12, 2011 at Halls 1 to 4, SMX Convention Center, Seashell Drive, Mall of Asia Complex, Pasay City, Philippines. SEE YOU THERE!

We’ll definitely do our BEST! Wish us luck. So, yea I might be very busy again as the competition is nearly approaching apart from the school work I always had. But I will surely find some time to update here somehow.

New Year’s Eve is a good time, for families to reunite after a long time. At the strike of 12:00 midnight, the noise conquer everywhere, children making sounds with their “torotot” and jumping to be taller, the blast of car horns, jingling with the coins on pocket for a prosperous year and of course the amazing fireworks display had light the sky and truly made the night outstanding.

We’ve waited on the parade to see Kelvin since he happened to be the Dancing Christmas Tree on that Parade! They did very good and it was awesome followed by the amazing fireworks display! It Feels so good from that minute I then realize and yes recognize like “hey! It’s Christmas!”
Later than we had dinner at Red Ribbon and tried their new crispy chicken which is available with a slice of Red Ribbon cake and drink for only P148.00 or ala carte for just P90.00. By the way, it was Kelvin’s Treat after waiting for him (Thank you kelvs!) what can I say, it was satisfying! It quite resembles orange chicken of Chowking but Red ribbon’s sauce version was a mango barbeque sauce! It was scrumptious, and something you should try. Along with the meal was a slice of cake, there were three selections of cake: chocolate fudge cake, chocolate heaven and Ube cake. Among the choices, I choose chocolate heaven which is my favourite since it was with four kinds of chocolate (chocolate brownie, mousse, ganache and curls) it sums up everything! A rewarding meal after a long day!

It has been a popular Filipino practice to collect a 12 kinds of round and sweet fruits which are one of the great influences of Chinese people that signify the 12 bountiful months of sweetness on a year and according to some it also imply money and blessings. Some collect 13 fruits with a thought it is better more than less besides 13 is the lucky number of Chinese people. Agreed, my mom does it too.

New Year’s Eve is quickly approaching so people are in hurried to collect those fruits. I had watched news last night about this the demand is vast so round fruits are starting to hike their market price and so I wanted to help you out what are easiest fruits you can collect.

1st TOMATO It is a fruit and I’m sure everyone has it on their fridge.

2nd KIAT KIAT (Those are like small oranges on a bound, you may spot it vend everywhere)

3rd GUAVA

4th MELON

5th WATERMELON

6th POMELO

7th LANZONES

8th PINEAPPLE

Apple, Orange and Pears are the usual fruits we collect since it is easy to get. Grapes are also usual fruit we could collect yet in is quite expensive it usually cost 220/kg. If you couldn’t find Lanzones in the town Longan, Lychee or Rambutan could be an alternative for another round fruit. And if you have the budget you may have cherry, strawberry too it is always available at supermarkets. Coconut, Papaya, Mangosteen, Santol, Atis (sugar apple) and Tambis (water apple) may also include.

S-O-R-R-Y! ow yes it’s a damnable word “sorry” Bah! Disgusting! Weak! Beneath the pride of any gentleman, which people always disregard due to their vanity as well as I do , but don’t they know it’s the word that makes as humble regardless of our elevated pride’s it’s a word missing pointed for a room called forgiveness. honestly, most of the people bear this and I myself admit that elevated pride however throughout my bumpy ride I try to swallow those for someone coz I don’t want to realize that too late for me to tell myself “Wala man lang akong ginawa para mapatawad niya ako” and like somebody said “If God forgives, then why man couldn’t?” isn’t irrational? Try to think about it.

I’m perfectly imperfect which abide me to recognize how to say sorry and lately I realize it’s the word sorry that makes our feeling calm but the rejection is harm. However, we can’t judge how people think since it’s their thoughts that make them what they are. But realization always takes place but too bad it usually gone late but I guess there’s no word late in forgiveness…

kaya tumatagal eh! kasi ito isipin niyo “hindi ba’t habang tumatagal lalong sumasakit?” why? siguro sasabihin mo “wala na yun matagal nayun eh!”  kaso yun nga ang problema eh! Matagal na di mo parin kayang mapatawad? Isn’t obvious that there are still feelings hiding?

We are not made to be perfect since were made to be right. “Tulad ng sabi ko tao nga lang ako nagkakamali, at liban sa mataas ko din na banidad marunong naman ako manghingi ng tawad at magpatawad lalo na kung alam ko na kahit saang angulo ang tingnan sungay ko ang nangingibabaw at alam ko sa sarili ko na naging mali talaga ako, kahit na minsan naging masaya ako sa mali na yun, napagtanto ko naman na hindi lahat ng nakapagpapasaya sa atin ay tama, may mga bagay lang talaga na masyado kang nagiging makasarili at nakakalimutan mo ang iba di mo iniisip na sobra mo silang nasasaktan,pero sa mga bagay na yun hindi ba’t doon ka talagang matututo? Pagkakamali na huhubugin ng mas mabuti ang pagkatao mo, pero ang mga pagkakamali na yun ay pilit na lamang nating kinakalimutan madalas nating dahilan para magamot pero kelan pa ba naging gamot ang paglimot? Hindi nila alam tanging salita ng pagpapatawad lamang ang maaring lunas ng lahat, acceptance is the key for everything is not too late”

So, take time to say Im sorry, Please forgive me, Thank you, or It’s okay coz if tomorrow never comes you will have no regrets about today! At least you know how to apologize!  Since apology is the superglue of life! just try, It can repair just about anything but too sad it is rarely cured :[ pero wag parin mawalan ng pagasa always hope! …

For m fairytale, I’m so sorry! I have felt bad about what happened I’m so sorry I made this fairy tale into a very short story and you deserved a much better ending and for that I’m very very sorry (Sana mapatawad mo na ako! :c )

Sana may teknolohiya na rin ang pagkakamali na sa isang pindot lang maari mo nang itama ang mali, pero kahit na walang teknolohiya ang naimbento anjan naman ang salitang pagpapatawad na tulad ng teknolohiya isang pagtanggap lang maayos din! (Tama ba?)

Sa mga tulad ko na unti unti ng nawawalan ng sungay lagi nating isipin di pa huli ang lahat ciao !

Yesterday was the releasing of grades supposedly it was on 29 but it was moved October 30 2009 some were excited to get the grades as well as am too as a result the corridor was very busy since students are in line to get grades “grabe! Ang ineet nung araw na yun sa sobrang daming tao!” then finally I took my grades sound good as well as my friends’ do congrats to all who passed another semester is waiting! GOODLUCK!

After that we take ourselves at SM manila to wait for some friends who are still getting their grades and for a lunch we treat ourselves at “pinoy toppings” grabe kabusog! Ang laki kasi ng rice nila highly recommended for a rice people! HAHA.  after a while joyce and Helen pull in, I had so much fun with them thank you paps mamimiss ko talaga kayo ng bongang bonga! lalo na kayo Helen and mars! “grabe nakakaloka yung topic namin after we took our lunch” HAHA! Trademark na sakin ni Helen yung ***! :] you know it. Sayang wala si Kelvin! HAHA

After that fun talk, Joyce treat us a cotton candy! HAHA passed daw kasi siya while eya treat us an hour at karaoke hub! HAHA thanks eya and joyce!

it was too early to go home kaya WOF! (world of fun) naman kami we enjoy it a lot HAHA. di ko makakalimutan yung nilaro namin ni eya na thriller! HAHA sobrang nagulat aku ng bongang bonga HAHA! may bago din sa WOF, yung taong gumagalaw pag hinuhulugan ng coins! ang galing ni kuya cool para siyang robot HAHA ! sayang i forgot to took some picture of him.

October 17, 2009 was the second to the last Saturday bond with my friends since first semester gradually end then, again stuff goes unintended since all of our professors were absent that’s why friends and I decided to go somewhere, along with we all set to take a stroll at Fort Santiago.

“grabe! mamimiss ko bonding natin!” thanks sa mga kasama ko dito.

I remember before Eya, Helen, Mars, Kelvin and I were making list of to-go places and I remember this was a part of the list which we plan to go but now it takes place without making some plan. “Actually nakalimutan na namin yung mga plans na yun because of the busy school works lalo na si Kelvin na sobrang busy! pero thank god! Coz luckily nangyari parin cia without making plans”

Fort Santiago is just a short walk from our school given that it is only located at Intramuros, It is open daily from 8am to 6pm with the entrance fee cost 70 pesos for adults and 50 for us, students. Before having a tour within fort Santiago we first sit down at the picnic groove for a lunch.

I really enjoy the atmosphere at the picnic ground the place was in silent feels so relaxing then i remember what helen said “ang layo natin sa nakabihasnan” so right! and had a great time having lunch with them; since Justine taught us few things such as deep tagalong vocabulary, along with I can’t forget the “sukal” it is a yawning tagalog word! But for a painless idea it is usually known as “basura” which means garbage (owh! Thanks for that learning).

I enjoy having a lunch with them as well as how I enjoy the hotdog bun we’ve eaten. (Hell yeah! making fun with the dressing, nice dressing Arvin HAHA.)

After that, we started to stroll around first stop was the Our Lady of Guadalupe it was a small chapel, so for a minute we pray for our  personal intentions afterward, we took picture around and again while walking around Justine again taught us a Korean song titled “chin kin byaw” .

This is a definite must. Fort Santiago is the top historical attraction in the Intramuros, and for those readers who will spare some time to read the history of the Philippines, then the tour of the Fort Santiago and the Rizal shrine housed inside, would become most rewarding.

There is just a relaxing, cool feeling, and it is nice to be away from the Manila fuss and noise. October 16, 2009 was the day seized at the Gym of Lyceum, actually this competition was moved a week due to the typhoon Undoy and truly it isn’t only about the competition, since this struggle is replace with our final exam in Physical Fitness. Undeniably we were nervous that day seeing the competitor’s are looking great and all set. I guess we were unlucky the day, since our president namely Kelvin pick and choose the number two to perform, as I said we were unlucky since the first performers currently not set so, we have no choice as we hear the voice proceeding the number two performers, and yes we are number two set to one! It wasn’t fair along with that moment I was truly jumpy considering the audiences are at the moment watching and noisy.

The sufferings on every practice prove and pull out how great we perform (naks! magaling naman tau eh! my panglaban din naman sa iba ), despite in the fact of those misunderstandings we had plus hardly any of us weren’t that cooperative enough to attend practices ! And I could say we all did our best though some of us including myself make some mistake! And even if we didn’t win in any case we carry out the finest in ourselves in that case congratulation classmates! And thank you so much Kelvin you prove to us how great leader you are regardless of your busy schedule and of course to kristel and christa who work out with our costumes thanks again! (Salute) I guess the prize for us are the moments we’ve shared I really enjoy the company with you guys perhaps next semester some of us will no longer be classmates again! I’ll miss you all, thanks again! and Good luck to life.

It’s been a year since I last visit the place, The “Japanese Garden” but unintentionally, since our practice for the preparation of the aero hip-hop competition was held at Luneta Park. Friends and I was strength to get inside the Garden since it was too early for the practice and the fee was reasonably priced 5 pesos! Therefore, there’s no way for a wrecked case so, try to visit it for some time, this garden is only located the Luneta Park.

I’m sure you’ll enjoy the ambiance of the Garden (as you see) it’s a great deal for study as well as for dates indeed you could actually spot students and lovers there.

Our visit will never be complete without pictures, as a result enjoy!

September 26 is Remarkable one because of the typhoon, colleges had suspended the class around 11am though some of the student including me are currently on school and I just finished to attend my English class, computer class and of course a substitute for a Business Math Quiz Bee.

DAMN! Remarkable day! I never thought the flood would be that huge woo!  kasi nung pagkapasok nung umaga wala pang baha, akala ko pa naman dati hindi binabaha ang intramuros! at unluckily, hindi na ako nasundo ng driver kasi natrap siya sa mataas na baha sa paranaque so sumabay akong umuwi sa mga kaibigan ko, akala ko talaga hindi binabaha ang intramuros! HAHA And I was wrong kasi Above the knee ang baha sa tapat ng lyceum kaya naman nagpedicab kami pero hindi ordinaryong sakay ang nangyari actually hindi kami totally nakaupo dahil inaabot ng baha ang upuan kaya naman nakapatong lang kami sa upuan in fact 20-3o pesos per head  ang fare lyceum hanggang underpass lang, too pricey mataas kasi demand nila! At unfortunately dahil nakaheels ako that time hinubad ko na at nagpaa akong naglakad sa underpass hanggang sa LRT station first time kong magpaa! Then lumusong sa baha sa may lawton, then nakasalubong namin yung iba naming kaklase na galing sa SM manila sabi nila hanggang bewang daw yung baha na nilusong nila grabe talaga at unfortunately ubos na ang stored value ko kaya naman bumili pa ako ng card! First time ko makakita ng paikot na pila sa ticket booth ng Lrt sobrang daming tao nagtutulakan, nagsisiksikan na talaga. I sense like all of them were craving to go home! Kasi sa tuwing dumadating na ang train talagang nagsisigawan sila at nagtutulakan papasok grabe talaga buti nalang my mga guards na nagcocontrol ng situation then, first time lang din naging sobrang ingay sa loob ng train kasi usually tahimik dun pero that time ang ingay halos lahat sa kanila ay may kwento regarding the situation. Bumaba ako sa 5^th avenue station around 2:30pm then my friend eya bumaba sa munumento at kwento nya pa nilakad nea daw ang munumento hanggang bagong barrio dahil sa walang masakyan! Ako naman Sinundo ako ng  kuya ko and poorly lahat ng possible way to get home ay baha! di kami makadaan sa usual way na dinadaanan namin dahil sa sobrang taas ng baha baka tumirik yung motor namin so naghanap pa kami ng daan just to go home and paikot ikot just to find ways ang lamig pa basing basa na kami sa ulan at ang lakas ng hangin besides sirang sira ang payong ko! Finally we get home around 5pm. Grabeng experience talaga! After shower I started reading text messages ang daming naggm one of them is my friend Ajae sabi nya first time nya daw sumakay sa taas ng pedicab ! I can’t believe it. Then, nawalan pa kami ng kuryente around 6pm kaya di namin mapanuod sa Tv ang situation  and that time my auntie matet was very worried hindi parin kasi nakakauwi ang tito ko  and at 1 in the morning na siya nakauwe kwento nea naman nastranded siya sa espanya dahil sa hanggang leeg na baha! tumirik daw yung bus na sinasakyan nya, grabe pala talaga yung baha i cant believe it. Pagkagising ko sa umaga my araw na kala ko okey na lahat and I thought wala ng baha pero pagkasilip ko sa bintana baha parin samin hanggang tuhod pinasok na ang ibang bahay we were lucky kasi di kami inabot it was an unfortunate day fiesta pa naman sana samin! Pero the folks will not be busy for the celebration I presume they will be more busy to clean their houses na pinasok ng baha! Well and finally the electricity supply gets back at 10am.
